On March 29, 1995, 45-year-old Douglas Gordon Eldred vanished in the vast, cold wilderness of Alaska, leaving behind a life and a mystery that would endure for decades. He was last known to be in the area of Soldotna, a city on the Kenai Peninsula, before he embarked on a trip that would seemingly erase him from existence.
