In the autumn of 1976, a young man named Lane Nelson Smyth, aged 22, was with his father, Carter Eugene Smyth, in the rugged coastal landscape of Kodiak, Alaska. On November 7th, their lives took a harrowing turn. While out on the water, they encountered trouble and attempted to beach their small boat. Unfortunately, the vessel was swamped by the challenging waters near Narrow Cape, south of Kodiak Island, and the two men vanished.
