In 1989, Carmella Maria Gutierrez moved from Brookfield, Connecticut, to Chattanooga, Tennessee, with her husband, a relocation that was supposed to represent a new chapter in her life. However, this new beginning was short-lived. By 1990, the 47-year-old was confiding in her son, Dan Hodgman, about her plans to leave her husband. Not long after this revelation, Carmella vanished.
