In the early morning hours of April 12, 2024, the quiet of a Clarkston, Georgia neighborhood was shattered by a tragic discovery. Inside a home on North Indian Creek Drive, authorities found Charles Preston, the victim of a fatal shooting. Officers with the DeKalb County Police Department had responded to a call of a person shot at approximately 7:40 a.m. and upon their arrival, they located Mr. Preston suffering from a single gunshot wound to his head.
