Jawaun Shockley, a 28-year-old Black/African American male, was killed during a violent Monday night in Wilmington, Delaware, on July 26, 2021. The shooting that took his life unfolded near the 2400 block of Jessup Street, in the area of 24th and Jessup Streets, shortly before 10 p.m. Wilmington Police said officers found him suffering from gunshot wounds, and he was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
