In the cool quiet of a West Philadelphia evening, Halim Lindsey, a 16-year-old male with a promising future, walked toward a friend's house on Redfield Street. It was shortly before 9 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2009, when the night was shattered by a barrage of gunfire. An assailant, lying in wait in the shadows of a small alley, emerged and opened fire. Lindsey, struck by numerous bullets, managed to stagger up the front steps of his friend's home before collapsing onto the porch.
