In the late hours of an autumn evening, the life of Lamarr Keith Thorne II, a 32-year-old African American man from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was brought to a tragic and violent end. On October 13, 2021, Thorne was discovered in the driver's seat of his vehicle in the suburban community of Penn Hills. He had been shot multiple times. First responders arrived at the scene on the 200 block of Columbia Avenue at approximately 10:45 p.m., but it was too late. Thorne was pronounced dead at the scene.
