On August 31, 2022, Najeer Lane, a 22-year-old African American male from Allentown, Pennsylvania, was shot and killed. The incident occurred on the 1000 block of West Juniata Street, where Lane was discovered with a gunshot wound to his back and was pronounced dead at the scene.
