In the early morning hours of July 12, 2020, Travis Latrail Plummer, a 34-year-old African American male from East Dublin, Georgia, was fatally shot at the Friendly Gus gas station on Central Drive. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. when officers were attempting to clear a large crowd that had gathered in the parking lot. Plummer was pronounced dead at Fairview Park Hospital at approximately 2:45 a.m. He was a father of two and an employee at the Pepsi-Cola Company.
