In the winter of 2002, a tragic event unfolded on the waters of Lake Aleknagik in the Dillingham Census Area of Alaska, leading to the disappearance of 41-year-old Ronald Mario Ramey. On December 31st, Ramey, along with two other men, embarked on a journey across the lake in a canoe.
