In the winter of 2019, concern grew for 37-year-old Tiffany Marie Lazon, a female resident of Albany, Oregon, after her family had not heard from her since Christmas Day. This unsettling silence prompted her family to request a welfare check on January 8, 2020. Responding officers from the Albany Police Department arrived at her home to find a sliding door open and lights on inside, but Tiffany was nowhere to be found. This discovery marked the beginning of a grim investigation into her disappearance. Her daughter, Felicity Halberg, expressed the family's distress, stating they just wanted answers. The focus of the investigation soon turned to Tiffany's estranged husband, Craig Lazon. Initially, he was named a person of interest in her disappearance. The case took a significant turn when investigators found Tiffany's cat locked in a storage unit, leading to animal neglect and abandonment charges against Craig. A pivotal and disturbing piece of evidence emerged when a friend of Craig's turned over a battery-powered circular saw that Craig had borrowed. Forensic testing on the saw revealed the presence of Tiffany's blood and DNA. This discovery, along with other evidence gathered through search warrants, led authorities to believe that Tiffany was deceased, and on January 21, 2020, Craig Lazon was arrested and charged with her murder. Despite the mounting evidence against him, Craig Lazon maintained his innocence, suggesting to investigators that Tiffany had moved to Washington. However, her family insisted she would never have left without her car, phone, and beloved cat. The investigation uncovered a history of domestic violence in the couple's past. Although Tiffany's body has never been found, the evidence presented by the prosecution was compelling enough for a jury. In September 2024, Craig Lazon was found guilty of murdering his wife, Tiffany. He was subsequently sentenced to life in prison. The case of Tiffany Lazon is a heartbreaking story that began as a missing person report and concluded with a murder conviction, bringing a measure of justice to her family, though her whereabouts remain unknown.
