On the evening of Sunday, January 26, 2020, 48-year-old Jess Allen Steeves was at his sister's apartment in Battle Creek, Michigan. At approximately 7:30 p.m., he walked out of the apartment and has not been seen or heard from since. His sister believed he was on his way home. At the time of his disappearance, Steeves was on foot. He was wearing a camouflage winter suit, blue jeans, and tennis shoes. Underneath his suit, he had on a green and white Michigan State University T-shirt. Jess Steeves is described as a white male with blue eyes and sandy, shoulder-length curly hair. He is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs around 135 pounds. He has several distinctive tattoos, including one of Satan on his left chest, another tattoo on his right chest, and a large figure tattoo that covers his back. He also wears glasses and has a goatee and a mustache. The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation into Steeves's disappearance. A possible sighting was reported on Friday, February 7, 2020, when an individual mentioned seeing someone who may have been Steeves walking down Columbia Avenue in Battle Creek. However, since the person who reported the sighting did not know him personally, this information has not been confirmed. The case, identified by case ID 20-000490, remains an active missing person investigation as the search for answers and for Jess Steeves continues.
