In the summer of 2012, a young boy named Devron Tyray Morrison, just six years old, vanished from his home in Battle Creek, Michigan. On July 23, the biracial boy of Asian and Black descent was allegedly taken by his non-custodial mother, Yaling Chang. At the time of his disappearance, Devron was described as having wavy brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance soon pointed towards a parental kidnapping, a situation that would leave his loved ones in a state of prolonged uncertainty. The days following Devron's disappearance turned into weeks, and then months, with no sign of the young boy. The investigation led authorities to believe that Yaling Chang may have fled with her son to Taipei, Taiwan. This international element added a complex layer to the search efforts. In January of the following year, a felony warrant for kidnapping was issued for Yaling Chang, officially marking her as a fugitive from the law. Yaling was 39 years old at the time and is described as being of Asian descent with black hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo on her ankle. She may also wear glasses. Years have passed since Devron Morrison was last seen, and his case remains an open wound for his family and the community he was taken from. The initial investigation, led by the Battle Creek Police Department, has been joined by national organizations in the hope of generating new leads. Despite the passage of time, the search for Devron continues, fueled by the hope that he will one day be found and returned home safely. The case serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the lasting impact of family abduction and the enduring pain of not knowing the fate of a loved one. The core of the case is the belief that a mother took her child, crossing international borders to evade authorities, leaving a father and a family to wonder about the well-being of a boy who has now been missing for more than a decade.
