In the spring of 2025, concern grew for a 41-year-old mother from Medford, Oregon. Nicole Heavenly Caldera, a woman with brown hair and green eyes, was last known to be in her hometown around the first of April. Her disappearance was particularly alarming because she was not alone; she had her two children, Trinidad Ransom Victorino and Kadian Van Deeds-Malcom, with her. The circumstances that led to their absence were complex, sparking an urgent search and a call for public assistance from the Medford Police Department. The situation was complicated by the fact that while Nicole had temporary physical custody of her children, the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) held full legal custody. For several weeks leading up to their disappearance, Nicole had reportedly failed to meet with or communicate with DHS officials. This lack of contact prompted the agency to obtain an emergency pick-up order for the children out of concern for their welfare. Authorities believed that Nicole had intentionally left the area with her children, likely accompanied by her husband, JR Caldera, in an attempt to evade the agency. It was thought that the family was traveling in a 2002 brown Chevrolet Blazer. An Oregon license plate, ZYA851, was associated with the vehicle, but it was noted that these plates did not actually belong to the Blazer and had been taken from another car. Authorities believed they might have been heading towards Crescent City, California. The case was a troubling one, involving a mother and her two children seemingly on the run due to a custody dispute with child protective services. After a period of public concern and investigation into their whereabouts, it was reported that Nicole Caldera and her children were located and found to be alive.
