Mia Kathryn Morrison, an 18-year-old female, was last seen in Medford, Oregon, after a period of transition and movement that began in late 2023. She and her mother, Karen Newcomb Morrison, made a significant life change by selling their belongings in Louisiana and driving to Oregon. Their journey first took them to Portland, where they informed family they were then heading to Medford. This move marked the beginning of a period of uncertainty and a loss of contact with their loved ones. While in Oregon, Mia took the step of obtaining a state ID card, which listed two addresses in Medford, one of them being the Salvation Army. The circumstances surrounding their time in Oregon are not entirely clear. After their initial communication upon arriving in Portland and stating their intention to travel to Medford, communication with their family ceased. Concern grew as time passed with no word from either Mia or her mother. The lack of contact was out of character and prompted family members to eventually report them as missing. The Medford Police Department opened an investigation into their disappearance, trying to piece together their last known movements and locate them. The investigation proceeded with the information that Mia and her mother were new to the area and had few, if any, local connections. The addresses on Mia's ID card were starting points for law enforcement, but it remained unknown where they were currently residing or if they had moved on from Medford. The sudden relocation from Louisiana and the subsequent silence created a worrying picture for both family and investigators. Ultimately, the case was resolved when Mia Morrison was located and confirmed to be alive.
