On the morning of Friday, September 24, 1993, 31-year-old David Ronald Hart was given a ride by his mother to the corner of Route 18 and Walker Lane in South Franklin Township, Pennsylvania. He was on his way to a local masonry job, which he reportedly completed later that day. David received his paycheck after finishing his work, but someone else ended up cashing it. After that day, David was never seen or heard from again. He was dressed in blue jeans, a dark-colored shirt, and work boots, and he wore glasses. David had brown, long hair, blue eyes, a mustache, and a tattoo on his right arm. Although David had a history of alcohol and drug use and had been known to disappear for short periods in the past, he had always maintained contact with his family during those times. This time was different. As weeks turned into more than a month with no word, his concerned family officially reported him missing on November 5, 1993. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance were puzzling to his loved ones and investigators. At the time he went missing, David was making plans for his future; he had applied for a position with the state's Department of Transportation and was preparing to move into a new apartment, having already arranged for the electricity to be turned on. These actions suggested he was not planning to voluntarily leave his life behind, leading his family and authorities to suspect foul play. Over the years, the investigation into David's disappearance has encountered several unverified leads. There was a possible but unconfirmed sighting of him at a local bar on Green Street in Canton Township during the weekend he vanished. Another tip suggested he might have been buried in the state game lands, but searches of the area yielded no results. Two months after he disappeared, an acquaintance turned in his wallet to the police, which contained a concert ticket stub, suggesting he may have attended a show at the Starlake Amphitheatre. Despite these fragments of information and the ongoing efforts of the Pennsylvania State Police to follow every lead, the case of what happened to David Ronald Hart remains unsolved. His disappearance continues to be a mystery, leaving his family without answers.
