On a summer day, July 15, 2012, 64-year-old David Doyle Frasier found himself in an unforeseen predicament. While traveling through Pennsylvania, his car sputtered to a halt, having run out of gasoline along the northbound side of Interstate 99 in Blair County. The vehicle was located near mile marker 16.5, a stretch of highway that would become the starting point of a long and perplexing mystery. Witnesses reported seeing the male, a resident of Frederick, Maryland, walking away from his disabled car. He was spotted either near the vehicle or in the vicinity of the Claysburg exit, about a mile and a half south of where he had left his car. From that moment on, he seemingly vanished, and no one has reported hearing from him since. The circumstances surrounding David's disappearance are particularly concerning because of the personal items he left behind at his home in Maryland. He had departed without his cellular phone, a common lifeline in modern society, and more critically, without the medication he required. Reports indicate that David was dealing with early-onset Alzheimer's Disease, a condition that could have affected his memory and decision-making abilities, making him especially vulnerable. He was described as a white male, standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. He had blond or strawberry blond hair, often worn with a "dirty blond" toupee on top, with his natural, graying hair on the sides. On the day he disappeared, he was believed to be wearing a collared shirt, khaki shorts, and white sneakers. In the wake of his disappearance, authorities were alerted and an extensive search of the area surrounding his last known location was launched. Despite these efforts, no trace of David Frasier was found, leaving his family and investigators without answers. The case grew cold over the years, a painful and unresolved chapter for those who know and love him. The overview of the case remains a troubling one: a man with a medical condition is stranded after his car runs out of fuel on a major interstate and is last seen walking away from the vehicle, only to disappear without a trace. The Pennsylvania State Police continue to list him as a missing person, hoping that one day new information will come to light and resolve the mystery of what happened to David Doyle Frasier.
