On February 22, 1975, 25-year-old Female Lynne Brown was last seen in Estacada, Oregon, after leaving her ex-husband's home with her two young children, seven-year-old Leslie and five-year-old Geoffrey. The purpose of the outing was supposed to be a single-day visit with their mother. However, they were not returned to their father's custody, and as days turned into weeks, a grim discovery would soon unfold, leaving a family shattered and a community in shock. The initial joy of a mother's visit with her children would tragically become the final time they were seen together. Nearly three weeks later, on March 12, 1975, the bodies of Leslie and Geoffrey were found in a clearing at McIver Park in Estacada. They were found lying on a coat, and it was determined that both children had been shot twice in the head. On that same day, Lynne's Volkswagen Beetle was discovered abandoned within the park. Inside the vehicle, investigators found shell casings, and a receipt for a .38 caliber revolver was also recovered. Lynne Brown was nowhere to be found, and she has not been seen or heard from since that day in 1975. The investigation into the deaths of her children quickly focused on Lynne as the primary suspect. It was reported that she had a history of mental illness and had previously attempted suicide. It was also alleged that she had made threats to harm her children if her ex-husband gained custody of them. In October 2006, a warrant was issued for her arrest in connection with the murders of her children. Despite the passage of decades, the case remains an open and haunting mystery. The disappearance of Lynne Brown after the tragic loss of her two young children has left investigators with many unanswered questions, and her whereabouts remain unknown. The case is a somber reminder of a family destroyed by violence and a mother who vanished, leaving a legacy of sorrow and unresolved justice.
