On a Christmas Day that should have been filled with quiet celebration, 35-year-old David L. Horn, Jr. vanished from Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania. He was last seen on December 25, 2017, between 7:00 and 7:30 p.m. at Connolly's Pub on Market Street. That evening, the devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan had been at the neighborhood pub, a typical activity for him, especially with a game scheduled against the Raiders. What was uncharacteristic, however, was that he left the bar just as other fans were arriving to watch the game. He reportedly called for an Uber, but the ride was cancelled for reasons that remain unknown. He was never seen or heard from again. At the time of his disappearance, David was living by himself in his late grandmother's home on Price Street in the nearby borough of Trainer. Initially, David's family was not alarmed by his silence. He had informed them that he would not be spending Christmas with them and had plans to travel to Las Vegas shortly after the holiday. This explanation provided a plausible reason for his lack of contact. However, concern began to mount, and on January 5, 2018, his father went to his home to check on him. The scene he discovered was unsettling. David's truck was parked in the driveway, and inside the deserted house, the lights, a fan, and the television were all on. His plane ticket to Las Vegas was found, unused. Adding to the ominous atmosphere, his father noticed a broken window on the basement door with what appeared to be blood on it. David was nowhere to be found. His mother officially reported him missing on January 9. Tragically, his mother, who was deeply involved in the search for him, passed away unexpectedly in January 2018, a fact David may never have learned. The investigation into David's disappearance has left his loved ones with more questions than answers. Since the day he went missing, there has been no activity on his cell phone or his bank accounts. His family finds it hard to believe he would have missed the Eagles' game that night, let alone their subsequent Super Bowl championship. They also insist he would not have walked home from the bar in the cold. His family has expressed concerns that potential foul play was not thoroughly investigated initially, and they have heard rumors about the possible involvement of a biker gang. Despite the passage of time, the circumstances surrounding David Horn, Jr.'s disappearance on that Christmas evening remain a painful mystery. The case is a collection of puzzling details: a cancelled Uber, a house left in a state of normalcy, and a planned trip that never happened. For his family, the lack of resolution is a continuous source of grief as they continue to hope for answers.
