In the autumn of 1998, a family's life was unalterably changed by the sudden and mystifying disappearance of Dalrico Cortez Braxton. On October 30, 1998, the 27-year-old male from Lansing, Michigan, went about his day, heading to his job at Pawnbrokers Plus located on Waverly Road. After leaving his workplace, he was reportedly seen in the 2800 block of Midwood, also in Lansing. Tragically, Dalrico, who was also known by the nickname "Rico," never made it back to the security of his home, and his loved ones have not seen or heard from him since that day. The absence of a man described as a Black male with black hair and brown eyes, standing at 5'9" and weighing around 200 pounds at the time he went missing, left a void filled with unanswered questions and deepening concern. As days turned into weeks and then agonizing years, the silence from Dalrico's end of the line became a heavy burden for his family and friends. The initial hope of a simple misunderstanding or a temporary absence slowly faded, replaced by the grim reality of a long-term missing person case. The Lansing Police Department opened an investigation into his disappearance, but the trail grew cold with the passage of time. Details surrounding the circumstances of his disappearance remained scarce, leaving a frustratingly incomplete picture for both law enforcement and those who cared for him. Known to sometimes use the name Tony Smith, the search for Dalrico faced the additional challenge of a possible alias. The case of Dalrico Cortez Braxton remains an open and unresolved wound for his community and family. Decades have passed since he was last seen, yet the fundamental questions of what happened to him and where he might be persist with no definitive answers. The investigation has been marked by a lack of significant leads, leaving a painful ambiguity for those left behind. His disappearance serves as a somber reminder of the many individuals who vanish without a trace, leaving behind a legacy of uncertainty and the enduring hope for resolution and closure. The circumstances of that October daya man leaving his job, a brief sighting, and then nothingcontinue to be the final, perplexing chapter in the known story of his life.
