In May 2020, the Knoxville Police Department undertook the investigation of a case involving an unclaimed person known as Nancy Jones Saunders. Her body was discovered on the 22nd of that month in Knoxville, Tennessee. Despite the efforts made by local authorities, there was no traceable next of kin that could be contacted to claim her remains.
