Stanley Theodore Adams: Ohio Serial Killer and Convicted Murderer

Background

Stanley Theodore Adams (born August 23, 1966) is an American serial killer who was convicted of three murders committed in northeastern Ohio during 1999. His crimes involved extreme violence, sexual assault, and the murder of vulnerable victims. Prosecutors described Adams as a serial killer after evidence linked him to the deaths of three females over a period of only a few months. He was ultimately convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for one murder and received a death sentence for two additional murders. The murders occurred in Trumbull County and surrounding areas of Ohio. Adams had a prior criminal history before the killings and was known to some of his victims. The brutality of the crimes, combined with the short time span in which they occurred, made the case one of the most notorious murder investigations in the region.
