Overview
In the early morning of August 5, 2020, a house fire set in Denver�s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood killed five members of two Senegalese immigrant families. Prosecutors said the blaze was ignited as part of a misguided revenge plot after a stolen phone was incorrectly traced to the home. Three teenagers�Kevin Bui, Gavin Seymour, and Dillon Siebert�were later identified as the perpetrators. Seymour, who was 16 at the time, ultimately pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 40 years in prison in March 2024.
