Kevin Diaz, aged 14, was fatally shot on May 22, 2014, in the Marquette Park neighborhood on Chicago’s Southwest Side. The shooting took place in the evening when Diaz was on the sidewalk in the 6400-block of South Francisco Avenue. Reports suggest that he was approached by an individual who opened fire, striking him multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
