On a Sunday evening, February 20, 2022, Adau Galuak Duop, a 25-year-old Black woman, was returning home from a grocery store trip with her family in Portland, Oregon. She was in the passenger seat of their vehicle, her fianc� was driving, and their two young sons, ages one and five, were in the back. Shortly after 10:30 p.m., as they were near the intersection of Southeast 128th Avenue and Southeast Foster Road, another car pulled alongside theirs and an occupant opened fire.
