James Ellis Fitzpatrick, a 26-year-old White male from Fort Gay, West Virginia, lost his life in the early morning hours of January 19, 2021. Deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 4 a.m. on Webb Cemetery Road, where they discovered Fitzpatrick had been shot. Sheriff Rick Thompson confirmed that he died from a gunshot wound at the scene.
