On November 24, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., 16-year-old Jes�s M. S�nchez was fatally shot in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood. S�nchez and a 15-year-old boy were standing on the sidewalk in the 2600 block of South Avers Avenue when unknown assailants opened fire. S�nchez sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 15-year-old victim was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
