On Saturday, July 6, 2024, the community of Union, South Carolina, faced a somber tragedy when 34-year-old Rodney Cornelius Whitener, a Black male, was found deceased at his residence. Law enforcement officers responded to the scene at 201 Cottage Avenue, where they discovered Whitener�s body near the home.
