On the evening of October 23, 2023, a shooting incident at the Eastview Apartments in Americus, Georgia, resulted in the death of 22-year-old Jahlin A'darius Kyree Sims. A Black male, Sims was one of two victims found with gunshot wounds when officers from the Americus Police Department arrived at the scene around 7:15 PM. He was transported to Phoebe Sumter Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
