In the late autumn of 2023, the community of Thomson, Georgia, was shaken by the tragic death of 14-year-old Jonathan Thomas Johnson. A student at Thomson-McDuffie Middle School, Jonathan was known for his bright smile and caring nature. He was born on October 15, 2009, in Augusta, Georgia, to Bridget Johnson and John Thomas Mudd. Affectionately called 'John John' or 'Tank' by his loved ones, he was a vibrant teenager with a passion for sports, particularly the Chicago Bulls, and music.
