On February 23, 2024, 16-year-old Layla D. Johnson died due to a gunshot wound in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident occurred at a home located on West 2nd Street in the New Town area. When police arrived at the scene around 11:20 a.m., they found Layla Johnson with a single gunshot wound to the head. Despite immediate response, Layla was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
