On May 3, 2024, Fredrick J. Russell, a 41-year-old man, was fatally shot in Tampa, Florida. The incident occurred near a convenience store on the southeast corner of Nebraska Avenue and East 26th Avenue in the Ybor Heights area.

Russell was killed during an argument that escalated into a shooting. The argument began between Whitney Newsome, the assailant, and Breanna L. Jones, 23, another victim who was also fatally shot. According to witnesses and surveillance video, Newsome got into a ...
