On July 25, 2024, at approximately 10:52 a.m., officers in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, responded to reports of gunfire and a woman lying on the street at the intersection of 27th Street North and 59th Avenue North. Upon arrival, they found Leslie Torres Fern�ndez, a 39-year-old Cuban woman, face down on the street with apparent gunshot wounds to her upper body. Despite attempts to save her life, Torres Fern�ndez was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the hospital.
