Briegel, a 74-year-old White woman, was found dead inside a residence in rural Muscatine County, Iowa, after information received from Florida authorities prompted deputies to conduct a welfare check. Shortly after 9 a.m. on August 15, 2022, the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the North Palm Beach Police Department concerning a possible homicide at a home in the 3700 block of Midway Beach Road, near Montpelier.
