Acea Dean Spiegeler, a 34-year-old White male, was fatally shot on the evening of February 23, 2024, in Riceville, Iowa. At approximately 7:15 p.m., Mitchell County sheriff's deputies responded to the 500 block of Walnut Avenue after receiving a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Spiegeler suffering from a gunshot wound.
