On Memorial Day, May 27, 2002, 25-year-old William Gordon Clark, a Black/African American male from Washington, D.C., stood in the 100 block of 58th Street SE when gunfire broke the holiday evening. Around 9:30 p.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District responded to reports of a shooting and arrived to find Clark, known to family and friends by the nickname �Lucky,� lying on the ground along with two other wounded victims, all suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
