Synai Smith, 18, a Black/African American male, was killed late Saturday afternoon, October 23, 2021, in Wilmington, Delaware. Police were called to the 200 block of West 30th Street just before 5:00 p.m. after gunfire broke out in the neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found Smith suffering from gunshot wounds. He was still alive when emergency responders reached him, and he was rushed to a hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.
