In the late afternoon of a summer day in Pittsburgh, the life of Floyd Johnson Jr. was brought to a violent and abrupt end. On June 27, 2007, the 26-year-old African American man had just finished his shift at Stagno's Bakery in the Larimer neighborhood. As he walked toward his car around 4 p.m., a man dressed in a construction worker's attire, complete with a hard hat and a reflective vest, approached him. Without warning, the man opened fire, striking Johnson multiple times.
