On November 30, 2009, Derrick Carter, a 46-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, was tragically killed. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. in the 2000 block of Dickenson Street in South Philadelphia, where police responded to reports of gunshots. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Carter with gunshot wounds to his head and chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:12 p.m.
