Gary Cooper, a 50-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, was killed on Thursday, May 14, 2015, in the area where he lived on the 100 block of Linton Street. That evening, at about 6:49 p.m., Philadelphia police officers were called to the block and found him lying on the ground outside a residence. He had been shot, turning an ordinary evening on a residential street into the scene of a homicide investigation.
