On the evening of July 14, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina, the life of 33-year-old Corey Barnard was tragically cut short. Gunfire erupted around 7 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Eastcrest Drive. When officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon, they discovered Barnard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
