In the early hours of July 20, 2026, a violent altercation in a parking lot near the iconic Santa Monica Pier tragically cut short the life of 24-year-old Edgar Buitmea. The incident, which occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the Lot 1 North parking area at 1550 Pacific Coast Highway, is believed to have stemmed from a physical fight between two separate groups.
