In the early morning hours of July 27, 2026, the quiet community of Horse Branch, Kentucky, was disturbed by an act of violence that resulted in the death of 39-year-old Darin Ray Rice. Deputies from the Ohio County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence in the 15000 block of U.S. Highway 62 East around 3:00 a.m. following a report of a shooting.
