On the morning of July 29, 2026, the Chicago basketball community was shaken by the tragic death of Timothy Bankston, a 60-year-old beloved coach and former high school basketball star. Bankston was discovered inside a residence in Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood, located on the 7600 block of South Emerald Avenue.
