In the early morning hours of July 29, 2026, a dispute, reportedly over a parking spot, escalated into deadly violence in the 2300 block of Dunlavin Way in east Charlotte, North Carolina. Gilberto Gomez-Ruiz, a 27-year-old man, was shot and killed at the Country Club Apartments shortly before 2 a.m. When police officers arrived at the scene in the Eastway Division, they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds.
