Zah'nia Barr, a 14-year-old girl from Rochester, New York, was shot and killed in the early hours of August 1, 2026, during a chaotic night of violence along the city's North Clinton Avenue corridor. Zah'nia was a student at Dr. Freddie Thomas Middle School and was also an active member of the David F. Gantt R-Center on North Street, where she spent time as part of the local youth community.
