On a deserted dirt road in Hillsborough County, Florida, the body of 21-year-old Enid Marie Branch, a white female, was discovered on August 21, 1976. She had been shot multiple times in the face. Branch was a mother to a four-year-old son and was enrolled in a Tampa trade school, where she was studying refrigerator repair. To provide for herself and her child, she worked as a sex worker at night.
