In the late afternoon of May 16, 2026, a dispute involving juveniles at a residence on Magnolia Terrace in Monroe, Georgia, took a tragic turn. During the altercation, 40-year-old Lakisey Branch was shot in the leg. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 2:32 p.m., and Branch was airlifted to a hospital in the Athens area for medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, she succumbed to her injuries four days later, on May 20.
