Randy Hoppert, a 35-year-old White/Caucasian male, died on April 9, 2026, after a routine civil process in Porterville, California, turned into a deadly ambush. Hoppert was a detective with the Tulare County Sheriff�s Office, a former U.S. Navy corpsman, and a law enforcement officer whose family also had deep ties to the department. He had joined the sheriff�s office in January 2020 and was among those who responded when fellow deputies came under fire while serving an eviction notice.
