Ryechic Harper, 31, a Black male, was shot late in the morning on October 28, 2025, after Kinston police were called to 405 Manning Street around 10:43 a.m. Officers found him with multiple gunshot wounds and, despite life-saving efforts, he died at the scene. Early accounts from police indicated the shooting unfolded on the city�s south side and that the victim and the alleged shooter knew one another.
Witness statements at the scene identified 21-year-old Quandarius Rawl as the gunman.
